Here is a LightRoom A/B comparison between the 24-70/2.8 S (left) and 24-70/4 S (right), at 35mm (sorry, I set the f4 lens to 33.5mm so that there is a slight difference). Pictures were captured around the same time of the day but in consecutive days; hence the sunlight is a bit different. At least I don't see a whole lot of differences even at f4.
Considering that Nikon doesn’t have very many telephoto zooms at the moment for the Z system, some photographers may be forced to make the awkward comparison between this 70-200mm f/2.8 S and the consumer-grade 24-200mm f/4-6.3. It’s hardly a fair fight considering that this is a $2600 dedicated telephoto zoom against a $900 superzoom, but
The Nikkor Z 24-70mm F4 S is the step-up option. It costs around $1,000 by itself, but gets a hefty discount in a kit. Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Review. Nikon Nikkor Z 28-75mm F2.8. 4.0
The 40mm f/2 is what I'd call a "muffin size" lens. Not so small as to be a pancake-type lens, but also not large enough to be something you need to pay attention to. It's more of a snack of a lens than a full meal. It's a compact lens at only 2.8" (70mm) long, and a light one, too (at 6 ounces, or 170g). Nikon Z System users have been asking

Available for around $997 / ÂŁ989, the Nikkor Z 24mm f/1.8 S lens is a compact, and lightweight alternative to the 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom lens, and is brighter with an f/1.8 aperture, making it great if you are going to be shooting in low-light conditions. The lens is a great choice for landscape, street, and interior photography.
Mar 17, 2020 • Review of Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm F4 S. 6. I've been using this lens for nearly a year now, and have shot hundreds of hours of video and thousands of photos with it. It's absolutely ideal for travel giving it's compact size and light weight.
This is the best trio of pro-grade zooms ever made. The Nikon Z-mount trinity is comprised of three professional-level lenses: Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S, Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S, and Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S. Sometimes referred to as the “holy trinity”, this group of lenses covers a wide focal length range of 14-200mm, and it is meant to serve as a
I happen to have both 24-70mm S lenses as well as the 24-200. For a first lens, I would go with the 24-200. In the range their overlap, I don't think the 24-70mm/f4 S is much better, if at all, but it is faster. Here's the catch - I was just offered a 25% discount on the 24-70 2.8, so instead of CAD$3000, it would be $2250.
